Across the country, small-town papers have closed and regional TV stations have pulled back from the counties that built them. The communities most dependent on local coverage — football scores, county commission meetings, funeral notices, school events, weather and road updates — are the ones getting the least of it.

TEMBN Media exists to change that. We build digital newsrooms tuned to the rhythms of rural counties, distributed through native iOS and Android apps so readers get a push notification when something matters in their town.

Where We Started

West Virginia First. The Rest of Rural America Next.

Our newsroom started in West Virginia because that's where the gap is loudest — and because it's home. The mountains, the small towns, the county high schools and the church fish fries are the proving ground for everything we build.

From that base we're already expanding into other rural counties across the United States: places that share the same shape — a courthouse square, a school district that anchors the community, a Friday-night stadium, and a feed of news that nobody else is bothering to write.
